Jim, that is a great and very honest question. If you hear a Christian say that they perfectly understand the Trinity, then they are not being honest. That doesn’t mean that the teaching of the Trinity is false. I believe the Bible makes it clear that it is true.

Please don’t every feel bad about yourself if it seems like you can’t fully understand the Holy Spirit. God knows the limitations of the human mind and He isn’t mad at us for things that we don’t understand, but He wants us to trust His word.

As to who to pray to- For me, personally, most of the time normally just say “Dear Lord” or “Dear God” or just “Lord” or “God.” He hears either way. But at other times I may say “Jesus, help me.” or, “Holy Spirit, please speak through me when I talk to this person.” I can assure you that when you are addressing God the Father, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, they all hear, are in unity, and are never jealous if you address either one of them.

As to who is controlling things now let me say this.

First, know that God is sovereign and in control of all world events. Scripture consistently teaches that God is the ultimate authority over everything that happens. For instance, Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Similarly, Daniel 4:35 declares, “He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done?'”

Regarding the Trinity, it’s essential to understand that the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit are distinct persons but one in essence. They work in perfect unity and harmony. The decision about the return of Jesus is a part of this divine unity. While Jesus, during His earthly ministry, mentioned that only the Father knew the exact time of His return (Matthew 24:36), this was a reflection of His voluntary limitation in knowledge as part of His incarnation (Philippians 2:6-7).

Now that Jesus is ascended and glorified, many scholars believe that He shares in the full knowledge and authority of the Godhead. Colossians 2:9 states, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” This means that the decision about the timing of Jesus’ return is made within the perfect counsel of the Trinity, with Jesus fully aware and involved in that divine plan.

In summary, God is in control of world events, and the decision about the return of Jesus is made within the unity of the Trinity. Each one knows. We can trust in God’s perfect timing and His sovereign plan, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Our role is to live in readiness and faith, trusting in His ultimate authority and plan.

I hope that doesn’t confuse you. Let me know if I can help.

I read your article and I understand, but I’m still confused. I was a born again in 1985 and since I’m still confused about different between God and Jesus. No question the Bible is real and God is the author. No question Trinity exit.

Every time when I pray, for example when I talked to God, I wasn’t directly talked to Jesus and Holy Spirit but when I pray and thought of it, I always sense that Jesus and Holy Spirit feels hurt or rejected when I pray to God the Father, I know it sounds weird. So when I finished praying, I said in Jesus name, Amen.

In my mind, I always sense that God the Father is greater than Jesus, but I know it’s not true. God and Jesus are equal 50/50. But again I’m looking as 2 Gods, but I know it is ONE God. When I was praying I feel/felt that 3 Gods looking down from the Heaven, but I knew it is only ONE God.

When I recently pray I said hey guys, opps I shouldn’t have said, GUYS, because back of my head the Trinity are 3 different persons, but I can’t wrap around my head. It is very difficult for me to understand.

Yes, I do believe in Jesus died on the Cross for our sin. I believe Jesus is/was half God and half Man. But again, when He was on the earth for 33 years, he prayed to God and again I was confused because Jesus is also God too as well. When Jesus prayed, I sensed 2 Gods, but I know deep inside of my heart, only ONE God and again it’s really beyond my mind.

I believe when I go up in the Heaven, I will understand better.

I have a question right now who control the world happening? God the Father or Jesus? I do believe the rapture is coming?

Please bear with me and my English. Sorry. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks
God bless
Jim
