Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table: Peace Through Your Challenges

don't give enemy a seat

I have both the written copy and the Audible copy of Louie Giglio’s, “Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat At Your Table.” I think it is remarkable.

As a young Christian musician, I was fortunate to hang around Louie a bit and do music at some events where he spoke. Even then, he was a most incredibly gifted speaker and lover of Jesus.

As I have followed him through the years and occasionally drop into Passion City Church in Atlanta where he pastors, I have only seen that giftedness in communication greatly increase for the cause of Christ and develop into something that is a precious gift to the body of Christ. His ministry has impacted millions and millions of people.

So, I couldn’t dare “review” his book, “Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table,” other than to say- “wow, thank you, God, for the message that invites us to dine with the king.” We can dine with the King and focus on Him, His greatness, and what He has to offer us even in the presence of our enemies.

Those enemies could be doubt, fear, anxiety, depression, sickness, disease, or people who are against you and want to hurt or destroy you.

Based on the 23 Psalm, this book is a comfort. Believe it or not, when I was in 1st grade, in public school, we memorized Psalm 23 as a class (yes, that was a different time). It has been a touching Psalm for me through the years, but Louie peels back some layers from its verses that I have never really taken in as God meant for us to.

This is a practical guide for allowing God to work in you to overcome negative thoughts and find peace and security in challenging situations. Louie offers some life-changing biblical insights and strategies that will help us stand against the destructive lies of the Enemy.

These include canceling the lies that disrupt your life, living fully in Christ, putting a stop to the spiral of shame, temptation, and insecurity. Following a prescription Louie lays out, not from himself, but from the pages of scripture, you can have your peace restored and break free from destructive thinking.

This book emphasizes the importance of allowing Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to lead the battle for our minds. Louie encourages readers to reject the lies of the Enemy and to embrace the truth of God’s word. The book can help you the spiritual and biblical tools you need to find encouragement, hope, and strength, regardless of the valleys that you face.
