These are some favorite verses about fear and anxiety. God does not want us to go around with a fearful heart.
We know that our Enemy roams about as a “roaring lion” to give us anxious thoughts and trouble in our lives. He wants to make us doubt the promises of God and the power of God to be with us in times of trouble.
He wants our lives to be consumed with stressful moments and also live with a great fear of death. However, Jesus Christ’s love toward us can calm an anxious heart and help us keep a peaceful and sound mind as we trust in Him and meditate on His word and the good news of the Gospel.
These Bible verses about fear and anxiety remind us that God is with us and that He loves us no matter what. Actually, there are more than 50 verses here. There are 50 passages. Some of the scripture passages contain multiple verses. I hope you will find comfort in your heart.
Trouble is inevitable in this life. Pain is real. If you are feeling stress and anxiety, God wants to comfort you. Jesus’ disciples were afraid, so we are in good company with our fears, aren’t we? Bible Verses About Fear And Anxiety – Part 1
Let’s get started!
Always try to make it your habit to spend time with and meditate on the word of God especially with Bible verses about fear and anxiety when you are fearful and anxious. Fear and anxiety can cause so many problems both mentally and physically in our lives. Anxiety can keep you tense all day, keep you frustrated, and cause insomnia.
Also, take advantage of Christian books that are very helpful. One that we suggest is by Pastor Louie Giglio, “Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table.”
For our look at these Bible verses about fear and anxiety, we begin with three verses that come from the first few books of the bible. Then we will move right into the Psalms. Actually, there will be many of these verses from the book of Psalms. The book of Psalms contains many passages about a variety of emotions.
The Psalms are largely attributed to King David. David let his emotions and his heart cry out to God and these psalms remain for us. We can be blessed by how David worshiped AND how he had times of struggle. Let’s start this encouraging journey! May the Lord bless us as we look at these bible verses about fear and anxiety.
In this first passage, we see Moses giving the Israelites instructions concerning warfare. He encourages them that God will fight for them against their enemies. Did they always trust God? No, but God was always trustworthy even when they doubted.
“For the LORD your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!”
Deuteronomy 20:4
These were instructions and encouragement from Moses to Joshua, as Joshua was to be the new leader and lead them into the promised land across the Jordan River. It’s a wonderful story and I hope you will read all of it!
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
These are words directly out of God’s mouth to Israel’s new leader, Joshua. He had a great task before him but was assured by God Himself that he would be with Joshua.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
This verse sums up and discloses David’s joy and peace despite being surrounded by enemies. When it seems our problems outnumber us, God is there! We can be of good courage when we realize that the mighty hand of God is our protector.
“In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.”
Psalm 4:8
(The first part of the passage explains how our God, acts like a shepherd taking care of us, as we are the sheep in this illustration. We have no need because He provides for us in every way. We relax by realizing that God is in total control and can take care of us. With God leading us, we experience peace and provision.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:1-4
God is always faithful and no matter what our external circumstances seem to be telling us you can count on the faithfulness of God. He never wavers. He never stumbles. He is all-wise and all-knowing!
Our soul is what we think, feel, and want. We all have and will feel some sort of pain while we are on Earth. We will experience disappointment and grief at some point. However, our Good Shepherd cares for us and He can heal our souls. He restores our minds, heals our pain, and renews and strengthens our lives!
In the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 3 it says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Even when we are going through tough times, we don’t need to be afraid because our Great Shepherd is with us. We can take comfort in knowing that he protects and guides us continually. He walks with us even in the darkness of a valley and we don’t need to be afraid even when faced with death.)
“The Lord is my light and my salvation- so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?”
Psalm 27:1
(The concept of light is used frequently in the Bible to express knowledge, truth, and goodness. As David’s savior, the Lord was his liberator from aggressors. To be “rescued” means to be delivered from a situation of danger or distress. A fortress is a refuge that conveys security and safety.)
“Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.”
Psalm 27:3
(David’s confidence in the Lord never wavered, even when he was surrounded and/or attacked by enemies. He knew that he could feel safe knowing that God was on his side.)
“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
Psalm 28:7
(Once again, the psalmist, David is announcing and proclaiming his trust in God. His faith is so strong that he has a joyful heart and sings songs of thanksgiving. Let’s pray that God gives us that kind of trust!)
“For you are my hiding place: you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.” Psalm 32:7
(What other place could be a better hiding place when we are fearful? We don’t have to run from our emotions unless our lives are outright in danger. God is right there as our ultimate hiding place.)
“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears.” Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy: no shadow of shame will darken their faces.”
Psalm 34:4-5
(David testifies and illustrates that he has prayed to the Lord. God is the only one who can truly free us from our fears and give us joy! There is no shame as His children run to their Heavenly Father.)

Bible Verses About Fear And Anxiety – Part 2
More wonderful verses here from the book of Psalms!
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
Psalm 34:18
(This is an absolutely precious verse to hang onto. Our God is drawn – is attracted to those who have a broken heart. He has such compassion for those who are crushed in their spirit. We can worship God and celebrate Him for that even if we don’t feel like it! A focus on worship can help turn our attention away from the fear of our circumstances, the fear of man, and get our our minds pointed toward the love of God rather than our own trouble.
“But the Lord will redeem those who serve him. No one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.”
Psalm 34:22
(David proclaims that God will rescue those who give their lives to Him—anyone and everyone who believes in Him will experience salvation, Those who accept Christ’s salvation are guaranteed to be rescued from God’s eternal judgment of the wicked.)
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.”
Psalm 37:5
(The Psalmist encourages us to give it all to the Lord. Don’t hold anything back. You can trust God in this and He will provide you the help in life that you need.)
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
(Our God is where we go for our ultimate comfort and refuge and He is ALWAYS standing ready to be there for us in troubled times.)
“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.”
Psalm 46:7
(The songwriter, Chris Tomlin, did a song that wonderfully spoke of the “God of Angel’s armies is watching over me in “Whom Shall I Fear.” Can we rejoice in that fact)?
“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
(Such a simple sentiment by the Psalmist, but is it always easy? No, but repeat this verse to God. Seek Him in those fearful times. God’s mighty hand is plenty powerful enough to hold you up. You can put your trust in Him).
“I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 56:11
(What an amazing statement! Can we breathe that in? If we trust in God, really, why should we be afraid? We might be afraid of a certain circumstance. However, we can relax knowing that no person can control our ultimate destination if we have trusted in Jesus!)
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
Psalm 91:1-5
(When I think of my history with Bible verses about fear and anxiety I think of these verses in Psalm 91. I actually had this chapter memorized for the most part when I was younger. I went through some personal depression but the steadfast love of the Lord was not absent although my emotions were distraught.
He was that “very present help” at the proper time. If I could get you to meditate, or even memorize all or parts of Psalm 91, I would. Poetic, but true. We rest under His shadow, in a place of safety! He is our God, and we trust Him!)
“For I hold you by your right hand- I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.”
Psalm 91:4
(A continuation of the wonder Psalm 91 – He holds us by the hand saying, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to help!”
“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.”
Psalm 94:19
(How many times have you had doubts? Did you have some today? Maybe so. However, if we set our mind on Him, he can not only give us comfort but also renew our hope for the future and give us cheer. Thank You, Lord!)
Bible Verses About Fear And Anxiety – Part 3
In this section, we move from Psalms to Proverbs into the book of Isaiah as we continue to discover Bible verses about fear and anxiety. Let’s allow these verses to encourage us.
“All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord! He is your helper and your shield.” Psalm 115:11
(A wonderful call to everyone who reverences the Lord, the Psalmist pronounces that God is our helper and shield. If any circumstance comes against us, we can count on His faithfulness!)
“Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me.”
Psalm 118:6-7
(David had weathered another storm and saw that the Lord made him victorious even against those who hated him. We don’t want enemies. However, if we stand in the will of the Lord we are in the right place for a huge victory.)
“I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.
Psalm 130:5″
(Once again we see David waiting on the Lord to work. He is trusting. He is counting on Him. He is stating that he is counting on God. It is good for us to make that statement – YES, we are counting on God!)
Many more Bible verses about fear and anxiety are coming below!
“Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.”
Proverbs 12:25
(WOW, how could a verse be so true? So powerful? We all know that worry only weighs us down. In the worst problems, I’ve ever had in my life, the worry did just about as much damage to me as the problem. We need encouraging words. If we can’t get them from others, then we can give them to ourselves or from God’s word!)
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
Proverbs 17:22
(This is a similar sentiment to Proverbs 12:25. If we are cheerful inside it can literally be like medicine. If we could somehow trust God enough with our anxieties wouldn’t the anti-anxiety medication companies lose a LOT of money? I’m not saying those medications are unnecessary sometimes, but if we could only have a cheerful heart from God. A broken spirit that stems from us taking on our own problems without God’s help will certainly make us weaker in many ways.)
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
Isaiah 26:3
(This verse is a part of a song of praise to the Lord from the prophet Isaiah. Oh, how we should want our thoughts to be fixed on our relationship with God and not just our circumstances. Let’s ask God to help us focus on Him and praise Him for being a mighty God!)
“Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” Isaiah 35:4
(In the book of Isaiah, he has had to deliver a message that wasn’t pleasant to hear. However, in chapter 35, we see that he still encourages those with fearful hearts to be strong and don’t fear. If you are a true child of God, He is coming to save you. We don’t always know the time, but in the end, our God will prevail!)
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
(This is more encouragement for the children of Israel. He will strengthen us and encourage us if we put our trust in Him and hold fast to His word).
“For I hold you by your right hand I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.” Isaiah 41:13
(God continues to encourage Israel in the. passage above. Even though this is written directly to the Israelites, the general principle applies to all of those who have trusted the one true God.)
“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1
Bible Verses About Fear And Anxiety – Part 4
Here, we will finish up with three Bible verses about fear and anxiety from the Old Testament. Then we will move into the New Testament as we seek to let our fears be calmed by the word of God.
“The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.” Lamentations 3:25-26
(This verse and book were written after Jerusalem had been destroyed, many people killed, and many taken captive. It’s hard for most of us to imagine these events. However, Jeremiah reminds the readers that, even in these direst circumstances, the Lord is good and to wait for His salvation. He doesn’t say it is easy, but being faithful to God will eventually bring you to a better place.)
“Yes, you came when I called; you told me, “Do not fear.” Lamentations 3:57
(Here we find Jeremiah proclaiming God’s faithfulness even in the midst of his lamenting the situation. The book of Lamentations can help us learn that God is still God, still strong, and still holy, even as we weep and mourn in various circumstances.)
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17
(Though Israel turned away from God’s way on numerous occasions. However, Zephaniah speaks of what God can do for His people when they obey and trust in Him.)
Now we will move into what is called the New Testament of the Bible or the New “Covenant.” Actually, the New Covenant doesn’t begin until the resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, as the books of the bible were arranged systematically – from the book of Matthew forward it is categorized in the Bible as The New Testament.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:34
(Here we are reading the words of Jesus found in the Gospel of Matthew. This sums up several verses about worry that started in Matthew 6:25. How many times have you, have I focused so much on the worries of the future rather than living in the moment? As someone, who, as a pastor, still has fallen prey to chronic worrying, this passage is a lesson to me and hopefully for all of us.
“So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Matthew 10:31
(This verse is in the context of Jesus’ teaching about how we are so valuable and loved by God. This verse talks about how even the number of hairs on our head. That is how intimately he understands us. He is not a God who is out of touch. When trouble comes we may feel that way, but those are times when we can’t trust our emotions, but trust His word.)
“But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” Mark 5:36
(The above verse concerns an incredible miracle that Jesus was about to do. Jairus, a leader of the synagogue, had just found out that his daughter who was gravely ill had finally died. Jesus went inside where the body of the child lay and said, “Little girl, get up.” Immediately this 12-year-old child stood up alive and well. Now, we know that if you lose a child, you don’t have the physical presence of Jesus in a very critical time in history to raise the child to life.
However, we can hear and do what Jesus said: “Just have faith.” In the darkest hours, when it seems all hope is gone and our emotions can’t take anymore or we feel that we just can no longer live, we can. However, it is only by trusting the heart of God – that He knows all and we will understand someday.
“They were all terrified when they saw him. But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage! I am here!” Mark 6:50
Now let’s put ourselves in a fairly small boat on the Sea of Galilee with the disciples of Jesus. Jesus had stayed behind on land after he had performed the miracle of feeding 5000 people. The winds became fierce and the disciples were rowing frantically. In the distance, they saw a figure on the water and they were terrified. It was Jesus. Yes, He was walking on the water coming to provide help. Here is another miracle that was done by the Son of God in order to demonstrate His compassion and His power. WOW! Just WOW!
And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?” Luke 12:25-26
Luke was a meticulous writer and this is part of Jesus’ comments regarding worry. He writes Jesus’ words that we shouldn’t worry over material issues and possessions using the example of Go supplying sustenance to birds. It would do the birds no good if they could worry about it, would it? So, if worrying doesn’t accomplish anything, why must we be so bound by it?
The truth is – we don’t. However, the other part of the truth is that it takes consistently leaving our burdens with Him and developing a trust-filled relationship with Him. Yes, some people have personalities that are more prone to worry – but God is still strong enough to walk you through the tough times and increasingly calm your emotions.
“So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.” Luke 12:32
(Continuing the thoughts that Jesus had in the verse above, these verses conclude this part of the Sermon on the Mount with Jesus’ teaching about anxiety. Even to the very poor, Jesus says not to worry about food or clothes. God feeds the birds and clothes the lilies beautifully, and His children are far more valuable than birds. Anxious emotions can’t add even an hour to a person’s life.)
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27
(Jesus was talking here to His disciples telling them that He was going to leave the Holy Spirit with them when He left the earth physically. He left the Holy Spirit to live inside of them. Plus, all of us who have accepted Jesus as our Savior have the same Holy Spirit residing in us. Awesome! Trust in that!)
Bible Verses About Fear And Anxiety – Part 5
We now will see some incredible verses from the Apostle Paul’s book to the Romans and then some other encouraging verses from the New Testament.
“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” Romans 8:31-32
(Paul, the Apostle, whose life had been dramatically and miraculously changed by God, writes to the church in Rome about the wonderful spiritual treasures that we have been given in Christ Jesus. God the Father didn’t even spare His own Son, so why would he not give us what we need?)
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Roman 8:38-39
(Once again, in his letter to the Christians in Rome, Paul deeply explains the greatness and power of the love of God. Nothing, no one, no power, no evil can separate us from the love of Jesus Christ, our Lord. When things go well, celebrate that. When things go horribly, thank Him for His love even though your circumstances and emotions may not let you see it.)
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
This is a prayer of the Apostle, Paul, for the people in the church in Rome. He tells them who their source of hope is and asks God to fill them with joy and peace. Why? Because of their trust in Him. We can have confident hope through the Holy Spirit’s power!)
“Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” Ephesians 1:11
(Here Paul is writing to the church at Ephesus, which would have been in modern-day Turkey. He explains that they are united with Christ. It’s not that they just had knowledge about Christ Jesus – but united with Him by faith in Him. Plus, they had an inheritance from God and everything will work out according to His plan. does that mean that we will have trouble-free lives on Earth? Not at all. However, there will come a day for the children of God when their world will be trouble-free.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
(Now we are in Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi. He gives some specific instructions here regarding worry. 1- Don’t worry, 2- Pray instead, 3- Speak your needs to God, 4- Thank God for the things He has done. God can provide us peace beyond anything we can understand. Have you ever had that peace, or do you know Christians who have? Yes, it is possible – just not in our own power!
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
(In one of the most quoted scriptures ever, the apostle, Paul tells us that we can do all things when Christ is doing it through us and gives us strength. Some Christians try to use that verse for somewhat silly things. However, it is for anything that God asks or wants you to do, then He will equip and empower you to do. He won’t leave you powerless when He asks you to do something.)
“Never stop praying.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
(I love this verse! It may seem overwhelming at first. However, if you look deeper it’s not. Is Paul telling us that we must be in conscious and/or audible prayers every second of every day? Of course not. He is telling us that we should keep the communications line open with God at any time, at any moment. Dialogue with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit inside of you.
I know – that’s the Trinity and this post is not a teaching about that fabulous aspect of God, However, we can become spiritually trained to stay in touch – in tune – with God’s spirit. Sure, you can have your morning or evening times of prayer where you set aside specific times for prayer.
Here is how I have taught this passage to many through the years. It’s simple – “Just don’t hang up the phone!” Have those planned times where you pour out your heart and your requests to God, praising Him as you do. However, in addition, go about your day with the mindset and attitude that you are in contact with Him in every moment. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit comes to live inside a Christian.
So, if I’m working for a business and trying to do a good, honest job for my employer, certainly I need to have my mind focused on what they are paying me to do. That in itself honors God. Just don’t think that you have to have some type of ritualist entry into a conversation with God. He’s there already. Don’t choke off the possibility of a continuous flow of thoughts about God, His love, His power, and His greatness. Speak to Him at any time with your thoughts.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
(This verse is from a letter from Paul to a young minister, Timothy. It has a very deep meaning for me personally. When I first had a major bout of depression, my mom used this verse as she tried to comfort me. She was letting me know that although the depression was real, it wasn’t God who was making me fearful. We are living in a fallen world and our minds and emotions can become clouded. However, it is not God doing it. It is Him, however, who wants to give us the path to peace.)
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7
The Apostle, Peter, who was loved so much by Jesus knew first hand, in person. He knew if we could just give Jesus everything in our lives, especially our cares because He has such love and cares for us as His children. Let’s pray that we can do as Peter says.)
“18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
1 John 4:18
(In Philippi, Paul the Apostle urged Christians to be prayerful and seek out anything that is good. He also expressed his trust in the enabling power of Jesus Christ. He encouraged them to take one day at a time, as we should!)
Take a deep breath, and find comfort in knowing that the Lord is by your side. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Bible verses about anxiety can be a great way to calm down during times of fear or worry.
When we read scriptures that remind us that God is always with us, it can help bring peace into our hearts. Find comfort in the above passages. Meditate on them. It would be great to choose some to memorize as well so you have them at all times!
Also, you might want to take a broader look at some of those entire chapters, especially dig into the Psalms because sometimes there will be other nuggets of encouragement in those specific chapters.
Conclusion
When it comes to Bible verses about fear and anxiety, there is only one conclusion. God can be trusted. This doesn’t take away the intense worry you have for a child, your spouse, your health, or how you’re going to pay the bills.
These bible verses about fear and anxiety do show us that God is active, He is strong, loving, and mighty.
Remember, just because your emotions are extremely sad, anxious, angry, depressed, or worse doesn’t mean that God has left you. As a child of God, He has You and He is there to be your source of comfort and hope. Make sure that you have truly trusted him and have become a child of the King.
I want to end with one of the most memorized chapters of the Bible, which is Psalm 23. We will end here with this Psalm from the traditions King James Version of the Bible.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 23
